I recently came across a tweet that goes as follows:
“We live in a generation of emotionally weak people. Everything has to be watered down because it’s “offensive” including the truth.”
Tbh, it kind of annoyed me at first! 😡😠 lol. But then I thought, wait a minute… I think that is the whole point of the the tweet… to annoy people & get a reaction! So I thought, I’m not falling for it lol. It was one of those “Christian” conservative political tweets meant to troll, annoy, push, and try to intimidate those who have opposing viewpoints. 😠 What was worse? The comments were full of vile posts from supposedly “Christian” people, insulting people with opposing viewpoints!!!! 😱
Imo there should be absolutely none of this going on. Calling people names for having opposing viewpoints is not only childish & immature, but as Christians it totally DESTROYS your testimony & any chance this person will give their life to Jesus in the future. We are held accountable for every word we say! (Matthew 12:36).
There is A LOT of this going on nowadays. 😧 I’m sure you guys have seen it.
People who simply do not have love or God in their lives, actively criticize those who do. In Puerto Rico there’s a saying… they don’t want to eat, but they also won’t let others eat! (Ni comen ni dejan comer!) These people refuse to truly accept God, but they also think they are “gatekeepers” to God & block others from getting to Him & having a true relationship as well! 😠😡
Jesus talks about people like this in Matthew 23: 13-36. In verse 13, it says:
13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.
Needless to say, these people are NOT on God’s good side lol. They may profess to be Christians, conservative, whatever! But such attacks prove they’re lukewarm at best. They have not made that decision to fully follow Jesus. They are just choosing to follow the world still.
It takes real courage to leave your old self behind, deny yourself, & follow Jesus. ❤🙌🙏💪 It’s what truly matters in life!
I don’t want to judge. I know people are at different maturity levels in their spiritual walk. But if you say that you’re Christian, you shouldn’t be online or anywhere insulting people. It causes great damage to your own personal testimony to do this, & to the body of Christ as a whole.
If you are Christian, you shouldn’t hate love, Jesus’ teachings, and everything that it stands for. You shouldn’t say these things are “weak” in a negative or demeaning way. Afterall Jesus loves, & uses those that we in our flawed human thinking think are weak, useless, etc. So insulting the “emotionally weak” is insulting Jesus… Think about that! Man looks at the outside, but God looks at the heart. ❤🙏
1 Samuel 16:7 (ESV) 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
If we truly follow Jesus, we would not spend our time attacking our “opponents” or enemies, verbally or otherwise. Jesus never did that! In fact, He was persecuted & attacked. And He calls on us to love our enemies, bless those who presecute us (Matt.5:44), & love our neighbor as ourselves. It is not merely a suggestion, but a commandment! (Mark 12: 30-31) So where’s the love?!
Sadly nowadays, these social media tools have given a platform to people who simply use them for the purpose of attacking or sowing seeds of hatred. We cannot as Christians take these things in or allow them to contaminate our spirit. And of course, by no means should we be participating in it.
Matthew 5:1-11New International Version (NIV)
Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount
5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them. The Beatitudes
He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
If we allow these things to contaminate us, it’s like we are becoming Pharisees of this day, the very people who were against Jesus. The very people who stood for tradition, legalistic attitudes, religion, rules, & not a TRUE relationship with our Savior. (See Matthew 23:13-36)
Everything has gotten so confused, that people are wasting their time fighting with each other over political issues, rather than spending their time praising God and working for Him (what we’re supposed to be doing). When He arrives, and finds people distracted, it will be a huge surprise for many. We MUST stay focused. We absolutely cannot let these things take away our peace, steal our joy, or worse of all, SEPARATE us from the love of God.
Yes, is it just a tweet. But the truth of the matter is, as a society, many people seem to value cold- heartedness, aggressiveness, narcissistic, and mean attitudes over being kind, loving, honest, & humble. And this should not be. But of course, we need to remember we are living in a world that values more the things OF this world, and they reject anything that has to do with God. We cannot adopt these attitudes ourselves. We are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). That is why, we cannot listen to just anyone, or follow just anyone’s example. We have to closely examine who they are. This tweet came from a political commentator who supposedly believes in God, however his comments clearly show, again and again, that he is merely a false Christian, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, being used as a tool for Satan to lure believers away from the word of God and to get them focused on hatred.
If he really loved God, you would think his tweets would be less political attacks & more trying to get people closer to God. But you can see, God is not his priority. Instead they are now using God’s name to gain political control, win governments, and this is not of God. They are simply using God’s Holy word for their own personal gain, but they are clearly not really living the Word.
We are all humans. Can you imagine if Jesus saw the world in terms of “left vs. right?” or whatever it may be? As Christians, we need to be careful and we can have our political views sure, but we need to just focus on God and do our work for Him, and not focus on these political fights so much. And trust me I used to do it before, but the truth is I was wasting so much of my time & God corrected that. That’s what God wants for us. Not for us to be fighting all the time, losing our joy & focus. It is very clear to me these are the end times. So we should be prepared. Don’t let God come & catch you on twitter reading those things or worse sending hateful messages to people, & having hatred in your heart!
John 14:6 (NIV)
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”Romans 12:2 (NIV) 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasingand perfect will.
I hope you’re having a blessed weekend!! 💖🙏💕 Xoxo
