Transformation🐛🦋💖

Last week, I was walking through the parking lot to go into church, & the most beautiful caterpillar caught my eye! He was just inching his little way on the concrete. 🐛 It had such bright colors, it was so cute, kind of hard to miss! Lol. I looked it up and it was a Monarch Caterpillar! So it will turn into a Monarch butterfly!   

Little did I know, the Pastor’s sermon would be about something related to this. I think God put this little caterpillar there & had me notice it for a reason. The sermon was about reaching our potential. But not earthly potential, but our God- given potential. Our “earthly” potential is of course important, but we just always have to make sure that we are living our lives based on God’s will and plans for us. Not just selfish ambition. We have to reach the purpose God has for us, because He made each & every one of us with a unique purpose. We have things we’re supposed to do here on earth for God. We have callings. Sometimes your God- given calling will come in the form of your career, sometimes you will be called to have a certain ministry. You just never know. Only God knows the plans He has for us, but we can be certain that they are for our good, He wants the very best for His children!

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! – Matthew 7:11 NIV

I used to think of my calling, of using my gifts and talents for the Lord, as an optional thing as a Christian. Like, you use it if you want to. In a sense, I was right. Because we get to choose whether we live a life in God’s purpose or not. We have free will. But, if we choose not to use our gifts and talents that God gave us for His kingdom, just like every other action and choice, there are consequences. This is no different. If we don’t allow ourselves to be used by the Lord, we won’t reach our potential in God, & one day when we stand in front of the Lord, we will have to explain why we didn’t do the job we were supposed to do. I don’t know about you, but that very thought changed my entire perspective!!! 🤓

So as I’ve kept thinking about that sermon, I also of course, thought about my own experience. I haven’t reached my full potential yet. But I am on my way… I am letting God work with me and transform me. It’s like I’m in the cocoon lol. But there was a period, where my progress was halted because I wanted to stay, a CATERPILLAR. Lol. I was very comfortable being a caterpillar. I did not believe God’s promise for me that He has better things in store for me. So I refused to give it all to Him, and remained stagnant. There was no progress, no growth. 😢😔

A lot of people are living life this way. Stuck on “caterpillar mode.” And I’m not judging because I was once there as well. Sure there may be some benefits, but caterpillars aren’t meant to stay caterpillars forever. They are meant to transform into beautiful butterflies. We refuse to change, and we would rather believe the world’s lies over God’s truth. It may seem sad, but it’s true. Sure the caterpillar is beautiful, but it’s not meant to stay a caterpillar. It’s meant to grow wings and fly. To reach new heights and see and do things it would never be able to do as a caterpillar. We are capable of doing so much more than we think or imagine. But we just need to put our lives in God’s hands and let Him do the transformation within our hearts first, then, we will see the result in our daily lives. 🙌💪🤓

So today, I want to remind you that whatever situation you may have, change starts in your heart. And only God can make that change. Only God has the power. The blood of Jesus has power that is undefeated. Let Him make the transformation in you. Let Him take control over every area of your life. Give Him the reigns. It wasn’t until I completely surrendered myself to God, that I started seeing real change within myself, and it reflected in my life. I could smile, I felt happy. My relationships improved in a way that I never ever imagined. Everything! My life has been truly transformed and He’s not even done yet! But if we don’t give it all to Him, we are limiting what He can do within us and in our lives. 😓

So don’t limit God, put God in a box, or come before Him with your own will, with selfish ambitions, or expectations. Don’t close yourself off or be so full of pride that you cannot accept God’s way. Remember that God hates pride. Humble yourself before the Lord, and He will exalt you. (James 4:10)

Be humble enough to accept when you’re wrong, learn from it, & be willing to accept His will and His perfect timing because remember, it’s always better than anything you may have wanted for yourself… That little caterpillar on the sidewalk becomes a beautiful butterfly…God sees our potential like no one else does because it is He who created us! So I’m not bashing caterpillars here because I think they’re cute lol, but don’t get stuck on a phase of your life, when you’re actually supposed to be moving on, progressing, to greater things where God wants to use you and bless you in even greater ways. We cannot expect bigger blessings and new levels in our life, if we do not let God transform our hearts completely. 🙏

Ask the Lord for guidance, and be open and obedient to Him, and you will be simply amazed at how He can transform you.  💖🙏🦋

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

  1. This was beautiful. I really need to read this. The third paragraph was exactly how I felt. In fact, I didn’t even know what my calling was. Thus, why my sites logo is a butterfly. We all wrestl with staying a caterpillar because we find comfortability easier rather then see it hindering us.
    Many don’t want to build the cocoon. Go through to come out on the other side. Process scares us. But we’re losing out on a layer of victory when we stay stagnant. I want to encourage others to move, get up and move forward. And take the walk with them. I can’t leave my brother and sisters behind.
