The Parable of the Talents

• The Parable of the Talents • {Matthew 25:14-30} In this parable, we read about a seemingly wealthy landowner who left his workers in charge while he was away. He gave them each some money, & wanted a return on investment. .
Once he returned, the 2 who received a larger sum of money or talent, used it to acquire double the amount. But the one who received one talent, buried it. The landowner was upset at this, & punished the servant. .
I woke up thinking about this today, how many of us simply bury our God-given talents? How many of us are letting them go to waste, instead of putting them to use for the advancement of His kingdom, like we are supposed to?! God will hold each one of us accountable. What we do with the resources He has provided us with is very important to God & it should be important to us. Our time, money, & other resources need to be dedicated to serving God, developing our skills and abilities to better serve Him, & doing other fruitful things. .
Don’t let yourself become discouraged. Not utilizing your God-given talents to advance God’s Kingdom is actually a sin! And letting these things become idle & wasted is something you will be held accountable for one day. Don’t let anyone stop you from serving the Lord, it begins at home, with serving your family, & those around you. Ask the Lord for forgiveness if you have not been serving Him as you should, & ask for His help in finding ways to develop & use your talents for His glory! 🙌🏻

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

♡ Homework time! 🤓📝
♡ Read the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30… Think about this or write in a journal: Do you see yourself as one of the wise servants? Or as the third & disobedient servant who buried his talent? What changes can we make to become like one of the good & faithful servants? What talents or skills do you have & how can you unbury them & put that to use for God’s glory?
