Pride is a very destructive sin that has made it’s way into the lives of many believers sadly. God hates pride. Pride keeps us far from God, & opens the door to many other sins. Many times, we feel far from God, but we don’t notice the reason is due to pride. If we are not careful to guard our hearts with diligence, pride can easily make its way into our heart. That’s the thing about pride, it hides deep within our hearts, & makes us unwilling to recognize when we are wrong.
We must ask the Lord DAILY to remove all pride from our hears & make us humble. It is so essential for our spiritual growth & our walk with Him. Pride is sin, & it separates us from God. The Bible says the Lord opposes the proud, but to the humble He gives grace & He exalts them.
Pride opens the door to many other sins because it makes us unable to see when we are wrong & unwilling to change & let God mold us. It separates us from God & grieves the Holy Spirit. It stops the Holy Spirit from moving in our lives. The Bible says in Prov. 16:18, “Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.”
On the contrary, humility leads us to be merciful & shine the hope & light of Jesus!
The values of this world are completely opposite to those of the Bible. The world appluds & rewards pride, treating others as inferior in order to get ahead or feel important. But that is a snare. Pride leads us to mistreat others. We must seek to live holy, set apart lives. Honoring others as superior to ourselves, showing mercy, & reflecting the humbleness of our Lord Jesus Christ. What good is it, if we immitate the values of this world? We wouldn’t be shining the hope & of Christ & will be like the lamp under a basket which cannot shine, & like the salt that is only good for being trampled on. We must live according to the righteousness of God… Living in humility makes us more like Jesus! 🤍 He is our perfect example of humility 🤍🙌🏻🥹✨️🙏🏼
