Becoming like Children 💖👧🏻😇

I have worked a lot with children throughout my life, and always find it to be one of the most rewarding things on planet earth lol. It really is a privilege to be around kids day in and day out. They just have so much wisdom to dish out, it’s really quite amazing! While I no longer am working in education, I do have nieces who never cease to amaze me!

My little toddler niece, who does not even speak yet, has taught me some of the greatest lessons in life lately. Children, they just simply understand the importance of what’s important. They just get it. God has given them this wisdom. As adults, we can get so busy and so bogged down by life, that we sometimes forget the most basic things. And kids have the most amazing way of reminding us!

My little niece, the youngest of the family, simply adores my father (her Abu, or grandpa). She just adores him. There is nothing more special to her in this world than being in his arms. She loves every second of it. She looves playing and being with me but when Grandpa shows up, everyone else is 2nd place lol! If grandpa is there, she just wants to be in his arms! And wherever he goes, she follows lol. And if he goes to the bathroom, she hits the door and waits for him to come out lol. And she loves the most, going to the park and car rides with her grandpa. Even if they are short. She simply will not let him go without her, she has to go along lol. She hurries up and gets her little shoes lol. If he goes outside to get something in the car, she sits at the front door window, and stares and stares and stares at him. Just waiting, for the expectation that my dad will come in and pick her up, and take her along. And he always does haha.

I think it’s amazing because she lives with that expectation, that faith. That her grandpa will come pick her up. She doesn’t care how long she has to wait. She is ready and lives with that hope that her grandpa is coming back to pick her up for a car ride or a walk in the park. This really made me think so much of how we should be with Jesus. To me, my niece’s behavior is just a perfect, living example of how I should be. I should be waiting like that for Jesus to come pick me up. I should too be living with that expectation that He is coming any minute, and He is taking me with Him! Because He is coming any minute! I should delight myself in being in His arms. I should put off anything and everything else, for being in His presence. I should persist, knock on His door, and even if I don’t hear an answer at the moment, just wait patiently, with the expectation that He will come!

The Bible says in Matthew 18: 1-5

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Wow, this is so powerful. We must change and become like children to enter the Kingdom of heaven!  Have you noticed how children always have hope? No matter what the adversity. They are always happy and they always have expectation for the impossible and the best outcome. Simply put, they don’t give up. And we are all born that way. It is amazing to me how, when we’re infants, having no conscience, inside our mother’s womb, we fight for our lives. We want to live, why? Why do such tiny little humans have this hope? This incredible, awe- inspiring hope! It is only us adults who lose hope in situations! After many years of being in the world, we learned to listen to the wrong voices and internalize them. Voices who tell us to not trust in God, in His promises, or in His timing.

But like the verse above says, we must change! We have to become like children! We have to ask God to transform our heart, to remove all the negative voices who told you not to believe in Him. We have to humble ourselves before Him. We are supposed to be that way because we know that God created us, and He is on our side. So we know we have the power of Jesus. When we accept Jesus we can be confident in that hope. Our hope is not based on something empty or false. It not based on man- made philosophies, or empty positivity. It is based on God’s promises, which the Lord never breaks and always fulfills in His perfect timing. They are living and real, they’re His word! It can be easy to get bogged down by life’s problems if we let it, but remember that as Christians, we have real hope in Christ. It is THE real hope that saved us! That’s reason enough (at least for me lol), to believe and to have an attitude of hope and expectation in the Lord everyday. ❤🙏😇

Here’s a quote from Dr. Tony Evans, about hope. ❤😇 I found it to be very profound & inspiring, so I wanted to share it… HOPE is a JOYFUL EXPECTATION about the future! 😃❤😇🙏👧🏻 Have a wonderful & blessed weekend!! Xoxo 💖💖💖

God Desires to Bless Us ❤🙏

Did you know, that God wants to bless you? God wants to A. SAVE US, and B. Bless us, each and every one of us! We just have to choose him back, because he already chose us, he chose to love us first! Isn’t that an amazing thought?!

So why is it, that sometimes people do NOT choose God in times of difficulty? When things get tough in life, when they don’t go the way they had hoped, they lose their faith in the Lord and feel as if He let them down in some way. They choose to walk away from the Lord, and lean on their own wisdom or their own human understanding of things instead. They are being led by their physical/ human eyes, instead of being led by the spiritual. So how can we keep the faith during times like this?

If God wants to bless us, His children, why then, do we see that we go through such difficulties in our lives? Aren’t we children of the Lord? Doesn’t he desire to save us and bless us? Why then, do we see that people who are NOT believers, who do evil, who are definitely NOT children of the Lord, are so incredibly well off? They SEEM to be blessed beyond measure! ☹😭😦

Great questions and I’m glad you asked! Lol.🤓

Before we begin, just to clarify, God’s children are NOT ALL the people of earth. Some people mistakenly believe this. God’s children are the people who have chosen Him. Who have repented of their sins and accepted Jesus as their personal savior, and live life accordingly. These are the children of God. Not everyone of earth. I’ve heard people call themselves a child of God, and they’ve never accepted Jesus. Sadly, they are mistaken because if you haven’t accepted Jesus, you are not yet a child of God. But you can be anytime you just need to repent and accept Him, and stop living in sin.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — John 1:12

So as christians, why do we go through difficulties? The first answer that comes to my mind, is disobedience. Many times, God is ready and willing to bless us, He has things and plans prepared for us, but we are simply unwilling to follow His voice. We are disobedient to the will of God. 😔 And this bring repercussions, setbacks, negative results, etc.. Sometimes people completely lack discernment. I have been here before (trust me lol 😓). It’s crucial that we ask for discernment and wisdom daily through prayer, and not make decisions based on our will and desires of our heart. So, we just want to do what we want to do, and when things go wrong, we blame God, when He had nothing to do with it lol. He was telling you to go right and you didn’t listen, you went left. You got lost and stranded and then, we blame him! 😞Still, He is SO GOOD and SO MERCIFUL, that when we cry out to him in these moments of despair, He comes to our rescue. So disobedience/ lack of discernment is my top choice as to why we go through difficulties as Christians.

My second choice is related to the first. Sometimes, God disciplines us (as a result of us being disobedient). Like the loving father that He is, when we get out of line, out of control, He needs to discipline us in order for us to learn the right way of doing things. His ways. If we do not learn, we will never know the correct way, and that can lead to our own demise. And He loves us!!! He loves us too much to see us self- destruct. If we are left to our own devices, we would all be lost. But God loves us too much. Think of it like a rebellious teenage child and a parent. What sort of parents let their kids do anything they want? Smoke, do drugs, have sex, stay out all night? Not very good ones right. Good parents have rules. Why? Because letting your children self- destruct is not love. It may seem painful. Especially for the child who does not get it and wants to rebel. We rebel against the Lord. Our flesh wants to do what it wants. Which is why we need to again, ask for discernment and wisdom because the Lord loves us. He is for us and He has plans for our good! He will help us conquer the flesh and save us! 🙌

The third reason why I believe Christians go through difficulties, is because sometimes, it is the will of God. There are things that are simply, a mystery to us, and this lifetime we will never have the answer. But we can be sure that God wants to save us and that His plans are for our good. His plans, His will, will happen. Sometimes, you may be upset that it is going against what you desired in your heart. But we must follow God’s will first and foremost. His will will be done and we have to understand this & accept it.

Things to remember:
God wants to bless us but his blessings aren’t always focused on material things, although he does always provide what we need. It is a promise from the Lord. We shouldn’t use material wealth as a measure for how much God loves us. The enemy uses material things to bless those who follow him. So not all material things come as blessings from God and we shouldn’t use this as a measure of our faith or of God’s love for us. He does want us to have victory, but just because you are not in that stage in your life, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you or has forgotten about you. Look at the story of Joseph in the Bible. And King David… Both stories of men of great faith who also went through great trials. Too many people use material wealth as a measure of God’s love for them. So they become discouraged when things get tough thinking, God must not love me, or God betrayed me, and quit before they even start. God would never do this. It is a process, & we have to understand money isn’t a “measuring tool” of God’s love for you.

Sometimes in life, we’ll go through difficulties. It says so in the Bible. We will have trials, just because we’re Christians it does not mean we will not have trials. What it means is that God will be with us through it all. He will sustain us, He will provide what we need, and He will give us strength. We just have to believe in him and not on ourselves. It might test your faith. But we shouldn’t let money or anything else, be a cause for breaking with God. Remember the story of the rich young ruler? (Matthew 19: 16- 26). He was not able to part from his possessions to follow Jesus. He loved his money & possessions too much to give it all away to the poor and follow Jesus. He was looking with his physical eyes. He didn’t understand that Jesus owns, everything!!!! Lol. He didn’t understand the eternal. He didn’t understand that Jesus is the Messiah. There are many people like that today. They love their money too much. Little do they know, it has no real worth eternally speaking. In no time at all, that money will be gone. And where will they spend eternity? We cannot let money take the place of God in our hearts. Or anything else. Remember, we are only here for a little while. We need to focus on eternal things…

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. — Isaiah 46:4

God’s love & salvation are the goals here, the prize, and the most important thing, and they’re available for everyone. We just need to choose Him back. Only the Lord knows people’s hearts. Just focus on doing what God has called us to do, on being obedient. I know a lot of us go through trials, and I hope this message has encouraged you. I like to think about the story of Joseph and King David a lot during hard times. Being a Christian, sometimes it can even feel  like we’re losing lol. Because there’s so many seemingly great things you pass up because of your faith. But it is not so. We will be rewarded greatly for our faith one day! If you have time, I hope you can read about these two men. I’ve included some links below! 🙂 They will greatly encourage you. ❤

And always remember, that God desires to bless us! Because we are His children! Just like a good father loves to bless His children. I even feel spoiled by Him often lol. The more obedient and faithful we are to Him, the more he is able to bless us. The more we delight ourselves in His presence, the more amazing things we will discover & be blessed!! Hope you have a great weekend! Xoxo 💖💖💖

Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; 2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. — Psalm 37:1-4

Remaining Grateful & Faithful through the Seasons 🙏❤

Sometimes in life, there are periods that we go through that are just simply stressful. They’re more intense, for many reasons, and those are periods that we have to go through. They bring situations that are really outside of our control. And it is in these times, that we are the MOST tempted to abandon our faith in God. However it is in these times that we NEED to hold on to God the most and must remain firm in our faith. This is because these are also periods that God uses to develop great character and growth within us. He’s getting us ready for our next level, for bigger blessings, to use us in even bigger ways for His glory! If we remain grateful and faithful during these seasons of stress, we will see greater blessings from Him in our lives. Not to mention, we will be saved!! If we don’t show that faithfulness, we won’t pass that test, & how is the Lord going to promote & use us if we cannot even pass the smaller tests? We will remain on the same level with the same problems. Struggling with the basics of faith. Unless our character is developed, we won’t be ready to receive those blessings. So God prepares us for the seasons ahead.

It is vital that we let God shape us and that we make sure to keep an attitude of humility before the Lord. The enemy knows God is preparing us, which is why he wages his biggest war against us during times like this. It feels like the pressure knob of life is turned up to the maximum it can go. But we must take off the blinders the enemy tries to put on us, and recognize all the blessings we do have and that we often take for granted when we’re in the midst of difficult situations. We must remember that God is our provider, so whatever it is we need, God will provide it. That is a promise from the Lord.

Most of all, we should rejoice. Because these trials are the great opportunities the Lord is using to make us grow. He wants to see us develop & grow closer to Him & learn to trust Him more and more. And we need to see this as our reality and not be resistant to the Lord when He is trying to change our hearts. That is THE reality. Don’t believe any other distorted version of the Truth that the enemy tries to sell to you. Otherwise, we will not grow and remain stagnant spiritually. The enemy likes for us to be blind to the blessings we have in our lives, that way he can corner us and make us feel frustrated, and like we have no hope and no way out. He like to plant seeds of doubt in your mind & heart, he likes to make us think that God has abandoned us. But of course, these are all lies from the father of lies. We have to focus on God. Not on the size of the problem, and not on what season anyone else may be currently going through.

Would you ever date anyone who abandoned you when things got even a little bit difficult in your life? Would you be a friend with anyone who stopped talking to you when you had a rough situation, only to reappear when things are good again? I don’t think anyone would lol. But this is exactly what some Christians do to God. And can you imagine how incredibly FAITHFUL God is to us, that even though we’ve left Him like a million times, He remains? He always takes us back? He’s open to us, wants to save us, & wants a close relationship with us! 💖😃 That thought to me, is simply amazing! But if we want to move on to the next level, we have to remain. God has never failed us & will never fail us. We have to stop looking at the distractions surrounding us, at all the “evidence” or reasons why something in your life is so wrong. We have to stop believing the enemy’s lies. Listen to God’s voice. Listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life. ❤🙏

So no matter what you do during your trial, just always remain faithful to God, with an attitude of gratefulness and humility before Him, and He will make a way in any situation. 💖🙌

Hope you are having a blessed week! Xoxo 💖

Happy Friday! 😀🙌

Happy Friday!!

I’m back! Lol. It’s really been a crazy couple of weeks, but great! My sister had major surgery & God did a major miracle! She’s been recovering incredibly quickly!! Much better than expected. God is really good!! 🙌🙌 Also this weekend my brother is visiting. It’s always so much fun when my brother comes. We all get together & just eat, talk, & laugh. 🙂

I’ve been busy making graphics for the other ministry (they take some time lol), & praise God that site is almost at 30k followers!! 🙌🙌 It’s been growing a lot!! 🙏❤

I wanted to share something that happened to me yesterday. So, during the week, I like to listen to sermons at least 2 or 3 times a week. I listen to Tony Evans, whose app I highly recommend you download!! HIGHLY!! And a ministry from Puerto Rico who is on 🔥🔥🔥 for the Lord!! It’s called Maranatha Radio Ministries.

Anywho, I’m really glad I listened to Tony earlier this week. Because he was talking about resting in the Lord, having the Lord’s peace DESPITE our circumstance. I know this is something many of you have probably heard before, but you know the Lord has given him a great way of explaining things, & here’s a quote from that sermon that really impacted me:

“Rest does not mean nothing is wrong, it means that your circumstance has no effect on your wellbeing.” — Dr. Tony Evans

Wow! That really made it crystal clear for me! ❤🙏 So back to yesterday lol. I was driving, happy as can be because my brother was arriving! Then it hit me, I was suddenly just, overwhelmed with worries & sadness. All I could think of, was what is WRONG with my life. My bills. My mood just shifted into sadness. I sat there in my car waiting in a red light, & I just noticed that mood change. I was like, well maybe I’m PMS-ing 🤣😂 But pms doesn’t make me DEPRESSED. I was, suddenly, SAD. Worried, stressed. Having I doubts. I felt like a really deep feeling of sadness which reminded me of those years when I was depressed. I felt so helpless & hopeless for a minute there, I could hardly pray.

So I did a quick errand & when I came back in the car I just reflected & I just knew this was the enemy attacking me. I can talk & reach out to GOD WHENEVER because of JESUS, but why do I feel that I can’t pray?! Or too weak to pray? Because those were the enemies lies. He was trying to steal my joy & my peace!!!! Oh how he hates to see me happy in the Lord. It drives him nuts!! How he hates that I am at peace, happy, & united with my family!!!! He will try anything to destroy it!!!

So I prayed in Jesus name, rebuked. Repeated out loud the promises in the Bible, that way the enemy is reminded of his place. NOT IN MY HEART, NOT IN MY HOME. I mentioned Tony Evan’s sermon because while the enemy kept planting lies in my mind about worry, I just remembered, well wait a minute… no matter what, I CAN REST IN THE LORD. 💡 In God, I have PEACE. Despite any situation, I can have joy, because I have salvation! So this thought I’m having, is from the enemy, & it must be held captive because I KNOW God is GOING to take care of my situation. God CAN DO what seems impossible for us. Why should I be sad? I have salvation!! In every sense of the word! 😀🙌❤

I know it seems crazy but immediately after I said this prayer, I felt relief. 😌🕊 It’s like I felt my soul smile again. 😀💖 I put on my fave worship music & treated myself to Starbucks for being such a warrior LOL. Or maybe I was just looking for an excuse to treat myself I dk LOL 😂 I’ve been FREE from the chains of depression for like 6 or 7 years now thanks to Jesus! I intend to keep it this way in Jesus name! 🙌😀🔥

Have a great weekend! Xoxo ❤🙏💖

Controlling our Emotions in Order to Gain Freedom

20180430_183220_0001Howdy! I hope your week is off to a great start! 😀

So I am sure we’ve all met at least one person, or have known of somebody, who is completely reigned by their emotions. This can be a toxic pattern to live by because it causes us to destroy relationships, make the worst choices, lose jobs and opportunities, and to burn bridges left and right. Being dominated by your feelings, is ironically one of the worst feelings in the world. When your feelings lead you, they basically lead you to ruin mentally, spiritually, & many times physically & professionally.

It may seem like following your feelings is a good and positive thing. But the sad thing is, in the blink of an eye, everything you have worked so hard to build, feelings will lead you tear it all down. I’ve met so many people who struggle with this, & I used to as well. I had major depression for many years, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, & anger issues to top it all off! But if God helped me he can certainly help anyone! I was impulsive too, another trait God has had to work within me. I’ve learned through my mistakes that I MUST include God in my everyday decisions!

Part of our personality comes from our background & experiences. At least for me, for a period of my life, I actually identified with my negative & unhealthy emotions & behaviors. I believed the lies of the devil & I believed that was me, it was my identity. But God showed me this is simply NOT TRUE & THOSE NEGATIVE EMOTIONS were not who I am!!! We are all different, but if we don’t learn to properly deal with our unhealthy feelings in a healthy way, they will control us. And this is not the way God wants us to live. We should be free from spiritual strongholds. That is why Jesus died for us, so we can live in true freedom & know true LIFE! He is our hope & we already have the victory in Him! 🙌😃 What an incredible blessing!!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. — John 10:10 NIV

So if we cannot follow our own feelings, what on earth are we supposed to do? How are supposed to be making decisions?! 🤔 This was always my question when I first decided to follow Jesus again, because I had always followed my heart. Afterall that’s what people always say you should do right?! We’ve all heard it millions of times! But the Bible says this:

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 NIV

So if the heart is deceitful, AND it is BEYOND CURE, then how are we supposed to make life decisions? 🤔

The Holy Spirit is our guide! 🕊❤🤓 We need to let our character be controlled by the Holy Spirit, not go with our impulses, our feelings, & not even our human logic! ❤🕊 We need to ask God for direction & wisdom in our lives through prayer, & reading the Bible so we know what to do. That way we remain in obedience. Of course nobody is perfect. But it’s much easier when you have the discernment about certain things or situations. Self- control is actually a fruit of the spirit! Learning about all the fruit of the Spirit was a great way for me to learn & grow because it really inspired me & still does! ❤🕊🙏 God gives us a NEW HEART! 💖💖🤓🙌

So what actions or steps can we take towards managing our emotions?

  1. Pray & let yourself be led by the Holy Spirit every day. Ask God for the Holy Spirit so you can be led by it.
  2. Pray to God for wisdom in both the extraordinary and everyday situations
  3. Put your focus on God; Pray, read the Bible, listen to sermons in order to increase your knowledge about God & be closer to Him!
  4. Take your focus off negative things and people. Take some time or distance from negative things if needed.
  5. Take the steps necessary to heal from wounds from the past. See a therapist or counseling if needed, be patient with yourself! Ask family or friends for support.
  6. Have faith and believe in the hope and promises God has for His children.
  7. Listen to Christian music, go to church,  listen to sermons online, & read devotionals! Pay attention to the music you listen to, what you read, shows you watch, & conversations you have. Make sure they are feeding your spirit. 🕊❤
  8. Be obedient- Sin separates us from God; Keep company who also loves God & are also trying to become better through Him.
  9. Don’t get stuck in old ways or old patterns. It is good and very healthy to give yourself plenty of time to heal after certain situations. But always remember, this will not be your permanent situation. It is just a period. Make sure you are doing what can to get out of difficult situations, and not give up thinking, this is where you are going to be forever.
  10. Always remember, we are more than conquerors with God. God gives us a NEW HEART. Jesus came to set us free, and if the son set us free, we are free indeed! Pray that emotional/ spiritual strongholds are broken in Jesus name. ❤🙏

This has been my experience, I hope it helps you in some way. ❤ Feel free to email me or leave comments below! Have a blessed week!  Xoxo❤

Hitting the Reset Button 😉🏝🙏

20180426_122001_0001These past few days, I went on a mini vacation with my family… Although it was sort of last minute & not as long as we would’ve liked, it was a simply amazing experience! Something about it was so incredibly relaxing, we had a great time, & the place was so beautiful. I feel like the “reset” button was hit in my life LOL. I feel recharged & ready to take on the next few months with a new perspective.
Lately I felt a huge mental block & I’m not sure why. Maybe I was just in dire need of this trip, but I was really really struggling to make decisions. Just like a computer, I think my system was just overloaded with plans, ideas, & worries that shouldn’t have been there in the first place! I’ve had to make a lot of important decisions for my life lately, & I had fear in me, I know I have to step forward in certain areas but I was hesitating so badly. I just kept thinking of all the past times I took a leap of faith, & I just failed miserably. They were not what God wanted for me. I’m much more cautious now when making any decision for myself. I carefully examine pros & cons & don’t listen to my heart. Most of all, I let God & the Holy Spirit guide me & give me the answers.

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? — Jeremiah 17:9 NIV

But I had been sort of “frozen”, or undecided, about certain things in my life for a while. I’ve refused to dive completely in on some areas out of this fear; I’ve had such bad experiences from decisions I make on my own, following the desires of my heart, that now I just absolutely require God’s approval for the big & small decisions. I guess I’m not sure if it’s fear or just waiting on the Lord. But either way, during this trip, I got my answer!! 🙌💖 I felt in my Spirit that God was telling me I need to step forward in faith, He is protecting me. 💖🙏 I was reminded of this promise:

The trip was far from perfect lol, there were a few snags. The flight was delayed, they gave us the wrong car at the rental place & we had to wait what seemed like forever to get the right car in 85 degree weather and 2 kids, one which got a poopy diaper once we got to leave LOL. 💩💩 Then there was the day my baby niece peed on my Dad 🤣😂😂🤣 Then when we left, my father forgot his carry on inside the rental car after it was turned in! So it was insane trying to recover it (We did thanks to an employee who ran to get it, & went to great lenghts to recover it! He is basically an everyday, unsung HERO! 🤓🏅💯)

I really felt the hand of God protecting us every step of the way & it gave me such incredible peace! He put the right people on our path & we were truly blessed. 💖🙏
I hadn’t traveled with my family like that for many years, so it was crazy but it was really nice to be together, mentally reset, gain new perspective from the Lord, & enjoy life’s blessings. 💖🙏🏝💯
I hope you have a blessed week! Xoxo 💖🙏

Snow Day! ❄☃️

PicsArt_03-21-03.23.46I love snow days, this season hasn’t been as bad here where I live, and tbh I just miss the snow. Actually I think this is the first real LEGITIMATE snow day we’ve had because there have been others but it’s been like less than 3 inches of snow. That is not even real snow imo LOL. 😂

Anyway I just love how snow days simply stop everything. People can’t go to work, children can’t go to school, families are just forced to stay home and well, be together!! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 It’s such a rare thing these days. We’re so rushed, so busy that a snow day where we can actually take time to have some breakfast with family, is really welcomed. Many people work from home so this is still a work day technically for some, but it’s still so nice to break out of the norm and have some extra time either to yourself or with family.

Growing up in Puerto Rico, of course I never had snow days lol. We did have however, hurricane days. 🌬🌀 These were days when school and work was cancelled due to incoming hurricane. And this was serious lol. First of all, there’s the immediate threat that you might actually die LOL, or lose your home. In Puerto Rico, hurricane winds cut off power and water, so that further complicated things. People need to buy weeks of supplies (drinking water for your entire family, flashlights with batteries, a gas stove, non perishable food to eat, etc etc, oh and don’t forget to collect rainwater so you have a way to clean!) to be ready for a hurricane. But, even in this situation, I feel like as a kid you still have fun no matter what. You’re just so happy to be out of school and home with your family.

We would play, and simply watching the hurricane (when we could take peek), was really exciting! My mom would cook in her little gas stove, and made us hot chocolate with cheese (a tradition in Puerto Rico when there are gatherings lol), and then after, instead of cleaning up snow you clean up leaves and branches lol. But it’s so nice back then and even now, how everything stops, and it makes you think of what is really important. At least for me. 🤔😌 We really have no control of anything, God is the one who is in control. God can make the weather do anything, whether it’s a hurricane or a blizzard. Nature really is simply gorgeous, it can leave us in awe of its power, and God is control of it all. It’s truly amazing! 😮😌❤

In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. — Psalm 95:4-5 NIV

Hope you are having a blessed week! Xoxo 💖

Cultivating Excellence 🌱💯

I’ve made it one of my goals to cultivate this quality of “excellence” on myself this year. In the past, I used to focus on being perfect all of the time. But this is so damaging on so many levels. Not only is the idea of perfection nonexistent and completely unattainable, but the person trying to achieve it isn’t aware of this fact. So you work so hard, only to end up constantly comparing yourself and your work to others, realizing you or your work will never ever be good enough, and lastly either destroying your work or abandoning projects midway through. I used to have a string of unfinished projects that I would start, but never finish. Or projects I would just destroy because I thought, what’s the use? It will never be perfect. Then months or years later I would find my work and think, oh wow this is amazing I should’ve finished it! Lol. What good are unfinished works and projects, that remain hidden?! God doesn’t want that from us, He wants us to follow through so He can use us!
Could you imagine if God decided to leave us just as we are, and not finish His work within us? If He decided to just give up on us? Never right! God would never do this. It says so in His word. So we need to finish our work as well, because everything we do, we should be doing for God! 🙂

6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. — Phillipians 1:6 NIV
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. — Colossians 3: 23-24

So no more perfectionism for me! 😀👏🙌🙏Thank God He has done some major work with me in this area. I now finish everything I start, & I also know how to say no. I have more balance & I know when something is just too much. It’s a work in progress. 😊 I just want to focus on growing and not competing, and just giving my best in every area of my life. Not looking around, wondering who’s doing what and measuring myself up against other people or the world’s standards. Simply outdoing myself! 🙂
Part of being excellent also means imo, following through, finishing tasks as previously mentioned, being diligent, being punctual and reliable, and all those wonderful qualities that we like in people who inspire us. They inspire us BECAUSE of these qualities, and because they are just doing their personal best, putting in hard work, and simply following God’s standards, notwithstanding of what anyone else may be doing. And hey I’m not perfect & I know nobody else is. Of course there will be times when life happens, & things do not go as planned. There are many variables that are simply out of our control. But as long as we’re putting in effort, I think that’s what counts. 😀💯
The point is to not remain stagnant in your spiritual life or elsewhere. The efforts we make to be “excellent” need to be habits that become part of our daily routine, not something you do once in a while. I always think of it in terms of going “above & beyond”, or “beyond the call of duty.” Not just doing bare minimum but on everything you do, just really try to do YOUR personal best (not comparing yourself to others but YOUR best). And once you reach a certain goal, you can set new goals in order to keep growing. It’s these daily habits that will define us as “excellent” and make all the difference. To me these daily habits are like the “seeds” for excellence. And then as we keep doing these habits, we’re “watering the seeds” & “giving them sunlight,” so we’re making excellence grow! 🌱🙌 Making productive use of our time and resources shows that we are grateful for the blessings that God has placed within our hands, and that we are good managers of those blessings, however big or small.

So what does excellence mean to you? How are you cultivating excellence in different areas of your life? What seeds are you planting? 🌱🌳
Well I hope you’ve had a great week and enjoy the weekend to come!! God bless ❤ Xoxo ❤

Learning to Trust God’s Will 💖💪

I had a situation present itself lately and the end result was simply not what I expected. It seemed like things were not in my favor. From my purely flawed human standpoint, it seemed as if I had lost the battle. And I don’t like losing lol. I can’t think of a single person who does. But more than that, I don’t like it when unfair or unjust things happen to me. I don’t like seeing evil people getting away with their bad deeds, especially when their bad deeds were aimed at hurting me or those that I love! So I was kinda like God, WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?! 😤😔😢 I wasn’t like mad or upset at God or anything. But for a second I was like, why is thing happening to me? I didn’t understand.🙁
I felt this burning question deep within me, I didn’t understand why. Finally, God answered my question, and it’s so obvious yet I somehow I missed it: GOD’S WILL. 🤓 (oops lol)
As Christians we don’t always win all of the time here on earth. That is just a fact. Being Christian does not mean we’ll get treated fairly (quite the opposite, actually), and it doesn’t mean we’ll always get our way. Yes, God is good to us and He blesses us. But there are times when His will might be in conflict with what we want, our desires, and when that happens, we might FEEL LIKE we are losing, but we are actually winning because our Father is being good to us. He is not permitting us to go outside of His will. He is protecting us from something that is not good for us, something that in the future, will be very harmful for our lives and will separate us from Him and our purpose.
I knew I had to accept whatever end result came out of this ordeal. EVEN IF things were not in my favor, it doesn’t mean I am not in God’s favor. I shouldn’t take it to mean God doesn’t love me or like I was doing something wrong. Sometimes, you can be doing everything right, but there are situations where God’s will just wants to take you in a different direction, and we just have to trust Him and go with it! We also have to trust that even though we may not see our vindication right then and there, you can trust that if someone has wronged you, God will make it right. He WILL do justice in His timing, we don’t have to do a single thing except trust God. We never have to take matters into our own hands or anything of the sort.
I might have lost the battle, looking at it from a human standpoint. But from a spiritual standpoint, it was a definite win. I’m grateful to God for protecting me because I wanted something that was not His will, and I do not want anything that is not God’s will in my life!! As great as it may SEEM or appear. Maybe this was God’s plan all along. I think the other lesson for me personally here is that, when it comes to making decisions (no matter how small or big) I need to involve God, or else those decisions, made with my own human rationale, will basically take me down the wrong path. Sometimes, decisions which seem small can have a big impact. So we need to involve God in every area of our lives.
God wants the best for us. I thought the outcome I had in my mind was the best outcome. But it is not! God is all powerful, and whatever outcome He has planned, you can trust it will be a million times better! We just have to trust in Him. It can be difficult sometimes, but God will always provide everything we need. We will never lack a good thing. And we never have to be afraid.
So onward and upward, God has blessings for us like we cannot even imagine. 💖

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. —Psalm 34:10

Have a blessed week! Xoxo 💖

Happy Valentine’s Day 😘

PicsArt_02-14-08.03.34I honestly thought about not writing anything related to Valentine’s day, because it seems a lot of people get down on this day. But I wanted to write about something that will cheer anyone right up: the love of God! 🙂 hehe 🙂 🙏💯

People everywhere are looking for love every single day. They look for it everywhere! In the most odd things, in objects that cannot possible give them love, such as money, jobs or careers, pets, alcohol and drugs, whatever! And while some of these things can give you some sort of temporary “love,” happiness, and fulfillment, they cannot fill the void that only God can fill within us. That void that makes us feel empty, alone, or depressed, or that nagging sense of dissatisfaction, even when things are seemingly PERFECT in life. Only God can fill that void! Only God can give us that perfect love that we need as humans. We cannot even get it from other people, because other people are not perfect. They cannot fill our every need. They will always let us down. Only God’s perfect love will fill the void. 💯

People wonder, why is it that there are some poor people who are so happy? They are so satisfied with life, with so little?!

It’s really not about money, it’s about knowing the love of God. There are both rich and poor people who are miserable, so money has nothing to do with it, although it is important to have it yes. We need it to live. But it isn’t everything in life. Just like receiving chocolates on Valentine’s day is also not everything in life, it is something nice when it happens, but we shouldn’t let it get us down if we don’t receive it. Not receiving it does not mean you are not any less valuable or important to God! 💎

Although it can be frustrating to not have something you feel you should have, the main reason why people feel sad on this day is because they are comparing themselves to others. If they just stopped comparing themselves, and started really looking at their life and appreciating the blessings, helping others, the end result would be more happiness and satisfaction. Also, when your identity is based on what chocolate companies or card companies think you should receive or should be doing on this day, you will live your entire life being pretty miserable LOL, because guess what? They ALWAYS have something to sell and some impossible standard for us to reach. These holidays are highly commercialized and as Christians we should be wise and not let ourselves be stressed or feel pressured. I love Valentine’s Day, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with celebrating. I just think if you cannot afford something, or simply did not receive some big gesture or anything at all, you should not let these things get you down. ❤

I for one, am single. So I don’t really get anything from a significant other on this day, and I don’t even have a date lol. I do always get a small present from my Mom on this day lol. (She is so sweet haha, she does that every year!). Maybe it’s because I grew up in Puerto Rico where this day was more of a “Friendship Day,” but I just do not feel the pressure as much. I actually took today off, not because it’s Valentine’s Day for another reason, but I am truly grateful because I got to spend the day with my one true love, God! I was able to fast this morning which is something I hadn’t done in a long time, and I’m glad I decided to do this again. It was amazing. I highly recommend to any Christian, if you have neglected fasting like I had, you should start doing it again. I am going to be doing it on a weekly basis because just doing it, reflecting, and spending that time alone with God, praying, was just like amazing. It was just what I needed.💖💪

So imo, this day could not have been better!😍

How are you spending your day? Whether you are single or not, Valentine’s Day is a good day to tell the people you love that you well, love them lol, care for them, & appreciate them! 🙂 😚💖 A quick phone call, a text, a note, whatever! 🙂

I hope whatever you do, you include God in your plans. Have a happy and blessed “Valentine’s” day! 💖😚😍
