When I came back to Jesus I repented of all my past sins. I walked away from the life I was living. We’re still sinners after we’re born again, BUT we cannot LIVE IN sin! I was set free (Thank you Jesus!) But we still need to ask for forgiveness DAILY because we’re not perfect & we need to draw close to Him! We cannot do that with unrepented sin!

We still live in this sinful world, so we must rely on the Holy Spirit for help. We can sin with just a thought, words, attitudes, impurities in our heart, so repentance is ESSENTIAL!

Repenting means you feel grief over the sin, & you ask God for forgiveness! God is faithful & just to forgive us (1 John 1:9) & you don’t do it anymore with the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26). God is HOLY.(Lev.11:44a) Only God is truly perfect & sinless. He cannot have a relationship with us when we are in sin. God does not tolerate sin. So sin is death to us, it’s separation from God. As followers of Christ we shouldn’t desire sin like before bc we’ve been made new. We may struggle at times but through the Spirit, you can overcome. For me, I can say it’s not hard to follow God’s commands bc I do not desire to live that way. Sinful & worldly living to me is like somebody told me to eat poop! 😅💩 NOT appealing to me AT ALL! 😂🤢🤮 But when we’re still in sin, God cannot be close to us, although He LOVES us still, but we must ask for forgivenes & be cleansed first!
