Trusting God in the Battle, Part 2

Why does the Lord allow battles in our lives?
This is what we always ask ourselves! Lord, why are you allowing this to happen to me?

The Bible is literally filled with counts of people who faced great challenges & difficulties. But the GREATEST example, our Lord Jesus Christ. To think of all the pain, mocking, rejection He endured. Yet He did so voluntarily, to submit to the Father’s will & fulfill His plan to bring salvation to humanity, to whoever believes in Him. ( Read John 3:16-17)

What does this mean for us? We called by God to the mission of reflecting the love of God to others & doing the work of sowing the seeds of salvation so that by the power of the Holy Spirit people will be convicted of their sin & be saved. This is no small task. This may mean that just like Jesus, we will be led to often difficult places (physically & spiritually), to reach the unsaved. We will be placed in the battlefield! These places can be your own home, your job, your school, in other cities or countries, literally anywhere!

Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to the wilderness, where He spent 40 days & 40 nights fasting, battling & being tempted by the enemy. Jesus understood & obeyed the Father’s will, & submitted Himself to it as a servant. He had the victory (& always does), & did not succumb to the snares & lies of the enemy, because He knew the greater mission He had to fulfill. He submitted to the will of the Father.

Just like Jesus, we will be led into places that are difficult battlegrounds. In these places we are trained & prepared for the greater mission. In our difficulties, God has promised He never abandons us, helps us, strengthens us. And just like Jesus, we need to fight the enemy with our sword of the Spirit, the Bible. When we are in the Bible & God’s presence daily, we don’t fall into the snares of the enemy. The Holy Spirit will help us to submit to God’s will.

When we fully rely on God, we are promised victory! Romans 8:37 says,
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
What an amazing promise! We have hope in Jesus!! HE is our VICTORIOUS KING! 🙌🏻👑

God is not blind to our suffering. He knows exactly what we are going through.

The Bible says in Hebrews 4:15,

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

He knows exactly what we are going through. He sees every tear & keeps them in a jar. Psalm 56:8 NLT says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

Cry out to Him in times of distress
Only God knows our innermost thoughts & feelings. He keeps record of every tear we have shed in our entire lives! He is not indifferent to our suffering. And He wants us to run to Him in our times of distress, because only He can provide us with the comfort & peace we need in those moments. He alone is our source of comfort & streght. Only in Him we can find green pastures & peace despite what may be happening around you. Cry out to Him!!

Psalm 34:4-7 says:
4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to Him are radiant with joy;
their faces shall never be ashamed.
6 This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him;
He saved him from all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him,
and he delivers them.

Verse 15 says,
“The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
and His ears are inclined to their cry.

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him
in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”

♡ Proverbs 3:5-6 ♡

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

♡ Psalm 23 ♡

A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

These are all promises for US His children!! We who have repented of our sins & believe in Him!

Our Christian walk won’t be without suffering.
Hebrews 12:11 says, “No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who have been trained by it.”

Nobody likes correction at the time, but in the end, it is the best thing for us. We need to live with this fact & with the eternal puposes of God in mind. Being disciplined by God doesn’t always mean you are being punished for doing something wrong in the eyes of God. Of course when we sin, we will reap the consequences. But also the Lord allows suffering so we can be trained & prepared for what He has for us next.

We can look at the life of our Messiah Jesus. He never sinned. But He suffered to fulfill His eternal purpose. Once He went through His time in the wilderness, He was ready to begin His ministry here on earth. (Read Matthew 4).

I can testify in my life, I’ve been through difficult & painful moments even after becoming saved. But I can also testify of the Lord’s faithfulness. How He has helped me at those very moments when I’ve cried out to Him. He hasnt always removed me from the situations, but He definitely has taught me to trust in Him more deeply, & has strenghtened me all throughout. We will suffer when we represent Jesus in this world. We will encounter people who will absolutely hate us for our beliefs. But even in those places, God will use us to shine His light, for His eternal purpose when we trust in Him fully & place our lives in His hands. 🤍🤲🏻

There is no better place to be than in God’s will, despite the challenges! May He be glorified at every moment through our lives & may His purpose for us be fulfilled!

♡ Psalm 144:1-2 ♡
1 {A Psalm of David.} Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

♡ Phillipians 2:13 ♡
For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose.

♡ Romans 8:28 ♡
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose

♡ Psalm 57:2 ♡
I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
